I have never seen a canoe this colour, but it provided a nice addition to the scene, don’t you think? I took this during a brief lull in the rain, so these are adventurous souls, unwilling to allow weather to mar their sense of adventure and fun. I love their spirit!
While we were stopped along the road so I could take this, among other, photos, other cars stopped as well. It was the first break from the rain since we hit the park border and I guess we inspired others to take advantage of it. The other cars were populated by Japanese photographers (there are a lot of tourists in the park specifically to see the fall colours, many of them Japanese). I got a lot of smiles and waves as they scoped out my camera while walking by me for camera positions. I had rented a D4 for the weekend (if you don’t know cameras, it’s a very high-end model). I proved that it’s just as easy to take crappy photos with a fancy camera as good ones, but man, it is a pretty sweet piece of technology.
