Great Horned Owl

A friend and I took advantage of the snow on the weekend.  Yes, at least two people loved the snow!  I say “loved” because the rain started today and it’s well on the way out.

We headed out to Leslie Spit midday Saturday with the intention of capturing the glory of frozen stuff, then capturing that magic time between dusk and dark of the city skyline.  Our original intention was to shoot snow and ice at the Spit, then head out to Riverdale Park for the cityscape.  Turns out we rolled it all into one at the Spit, with the bonus of seeing a Great Horned Owl!  This image was taken at a very high ISO, as the sun had actually just set and light was fading. I switched to video and was recording when it decided to move along.
