This was from the Australian Barrier Reef Pavilion in the Toronto Zoo. A Victoria Crowned Pigeon: what an amazing beauty. I took a few shots of it when it stepped into a pool of light. Huge for something called a pigeon!
This one (below) was taken in more diffuse light. It turned its head so its eye caught the light, but it wasn’t the brilliant light seen in the image at the top. Notice the difference in the blue!
And then stepping into the bright light again, with dark shadows behind it. Such a marvellously photogenic bird.
