Sunsets

This was taken through a tinted, dirty bus window on the way from San Francisco to Petaluma.  It was the beginning of one of the most magnificent sunsets I’ve ever seen. My camera clicking soon got many in the bus staring out the window and taking photos themselves. The colours not only became increasingly gaudy and brilliant, but filled the entire sky, not just a portion of it.  If you were Following anyone from the Bay area on Twitter, you would have seen a lot of tweets telling people to get outside and look at the sky — it was that amazing.  By the time we got off the bus, we had a moment to stand under the splendour for a few minutes before the colour started to fade.

This summer I was lucky enough to catch another stunning, unforgettable show from Mother Nature.  This was taken in Nova Scotia. The colours were as riotous and awe-inspiring, though didn’t fill the entire sky as the California sunset had.  It filled enough of the sky and had the water of the bay to more than make up for it.
