Middle of nowhere

Before the Trans-Canada Highway was finished in New Brunswick, a faster way to travel the province was using a road that ran through the middle of the province between Grand Falls and Newcastle (now called Miramichi). It takes a couple of hours to travel, there is no cell reception, no power poles and in the middle of the isolation used to be a gas station and campground. This summer we decided to take it for a change from the same ol’ drive.  The gas station is now gone.  There are areas which have been repaired or are being repaired, to give relief from the bumpy, well-used road, but it’s now even more in-the-middle-of-nowhere than ever before, though we still ran into a few drivers sharing the road from time to time.
