Does anyone else think that it’s nuts to have an airport just off the heart of downtown? I know that some people find it more convenient than Pearson, but really? Seeing plane after plane intersect with the tower sends chills down my back. There’s that whole “an ounce of prevention…” thing. Hopefully a subway to the airport will help change this, when and if it happens and if they do it right (I’ve heard from someone who lives on the proposed route about some insanity involved in that aspect). The planners should all have to visit San Francisco to see the right way of doing it. The BART system takes folks from SFO to downtown, to across the bay. Affordable and practical, for locals and visitors. And quick and convenient.
