Usually by the time I see a plane (from another plane), by the time I’m able to point my camera and focus, it’s gone. This time, I just happened to be already taking a photo when the motion grabbed my eye and I snapped the shot. Unfortunately, airplane windows aren’t the best optics to shoot through — there is usually at least one area of distortion, as you can clearly see in the lower righthand corner. But, still a lucky shot!
The scariest thing I’ve ever seen in a plane was something I apparently had just missed. I turned from looking out the window to talk to the person next to me. I looked back — at the closest contrail I’ve ever seen! The thing that made it had been ridiculously close!
