This image screams “summer” to me. This was a very hot day and the bright sun on the channel and seaweed highlight the sun beating down, and the folks on the boat are relaxed to soak up heat.
For those who’ve paid attention to other shots in this blog and think that channel marker looks familiar, this is indeed all the water left at low tide: enough water to allow boats to come in from the bay and get into the river to dock. Those channel markers are important. A couple of couples went out as the tide was going out late one afternoon and figured that they didn’t need to obey the markers with their seadoos. But the water was too low, they both got stuck, the guys then had to begin the painful job of pushing their girlfriends and the seadoos towards the deep water of the channel.
