It was dawn, not much light yet, so I sat at the end of the dock and enjoyed the moment. Birds were singing, the air was crisp and insects were skipping along the top of the water as the sun made its way into the sky. As I was watching a bug, I noticed something under the surface of the water. Because there wasn’t a lot of light, I could barely see fish swimming below, but one shadow emerged from the depths and its eyes seem fixated on the same bug I had been watching. As I watched, the fish slowly inched its way closer and it was clearly stalking prey. I never expected my photos to turn out, but it would have been stupid not to try. This shot was just before the bug suddenly became aware of the imminent threat and flew off. With a swish of its tail, the fish disappeared into the dark water to search for another food source,
