Distillery District

Spent a few minutes at the Distillery District a few nights ago.  As you can see by the sheen on the bricks, it was raining, and it was the last light of the day, so quite dark.  I love that clock, so wanted to feature it in the shot, but at this time of day, the exposure difference between the bright clock was extreme enough that shooting an HDR seemed appropriate. If I had exposed for the scene, the clock would have been blown out; if I had exposed for the clock, everything else would’ve been black.  This is a 5 exposure shot, compiled in Photomatix, then tweaked in Photoshop with the help of Silver Efex Pro.

Here’s another shot, showing the scene to the right of that seen above.
