Another look at the cheetah. A significant part of “enrichment” for zoo animals has to do with food: make it a challenge to hunt for it or throw them something extra yummy during parts of the day. The routine here was supposed to be cheetah keeper appears at appointed time of day and tosses in a lovely meaty bone, so critter can be properly admired close up by humans and be rewarded with a treat. But…it was a cold day and things that weren’t supposed to be frozen were, including the anticipated bone, so no treat this day. Cheetah looked, stared, then finally sullenly walked away.
Above, she is close enough to the perimeter wall that this was all that was visible of her: good and close, though the wall (unfortunately) was in the way of a full shot.
